Description

The plugin streams your point clouds and panorama images.

Simplified data management - Import point clouds of any size from multiple vendors from your local hard drive or corporate network. There is no need to split data, reduce detail, and create local copies. Even the largest point clouds work on a standard consumer computer.

Better quality in less time - Work with new visualizations that support your workflow and reveal even the smallest details. Use our X-ray view to instantly see walls and features without manually defining cropping planes and losing detail.

Integrated data - Qbitec for Autodesk® Revit® makes panoramas integral to your workflow. Display panoramic images directly in the Revit 3D view and overlay them correctly on your model.

Seamless streaming - Stream point clouds from NavVis directly into Revit without tedious export and data management.

Note: This app uses a custom installer (and not the standard App Store installer).

Trial Description

The trial version will work for 14 days. After installing the software and starting the command "Insert Point Cloud" in the Qbitec Ribbon, you will be asked to register with your email.

About This Version

Version 1.2.2, 7/7/2025
New Features: - New command: Visibility - allows toggling visibility of individual point clouds and assigning a custom uniform color to each. This provides better control and visual clarity in complex scenes. - New command: Insert Point Cloud from Public URL - Introduced support for inserting point cloud data from publicly accessible URLs by specifying a remote data folder. This feature is intended for self-hosted cloud platforms and third-party services that are not directly supported as Qbitec point cloud sources and do not require authentication. - New command: Toggle Panorama Symbols - adds a Revit view filter to control the visibility of panoramic image symbols. This allows users to easily hide the symbols for printing, exporting, or to reduce visual clutter. - New command: Measure points - Enables placing reference point family symbols by selecting 3D coordinates directly from point clouds in any Revit view. Improvements: - The installer now reliably detects installed Revit versions (via registry and presence of Revit.exe) and only installs for supported versions. It also supports installation for all users or just the current user, and warns if Revit is running. - It's now possible to install the point cloud converter without Revit using the /ConverterOnly command-line parameter. - Improved streaming performance of multiple point clouds from Navvis Ivion. Bugfixes: - A bug was fixed where some points of a NavVis point cloud were not loaded and displayed. - If orphaned disk cache files are created, e.g. due to a crash, they are now subsequently removed to not waste disk space. - Reversed mouse wheel zoom direction in panoramic view navigation to match the behavior of standard Revit 3D views, providing a more consistent user experience. - Visibility of panoramic image symbols now respects the visibility state of their associated point clouds, ensuring consistent behavior when point clouds are hidden or shown. - A bug was fixed that broke point cloud loading from certain NavVis Enterprise instances. This issue was introduced in version 1.1.4. - Fixed an issue where the point cloud converter could not be started when the application was installed to a custom location.

  • Smooth Integration and Powerful Performance
Christian Jaekel | July 01, 2025 Verified Download (What's this?)

We added the plugin to our Revit workflow, and the difference was immediate. No more splitting or preprocessing of point clouds—everything streams in seamlessly. The X-ray mode is also very useful. The team delivers on performance, ease of use and visual quality. Thumbs up!

  • Direct streaming Pointclouds from NavVis IVION in Revit
    Christian Rust | April 10, 2025

Realy great tool to stream Pointcloud data from NavVis IVION directly into Revit

    Oliver Bringmann | May 19, 2025

Yes :-), keeping the point cloud available for all users makes a lot of sense. It is always up-to-date and saves download times and hard disk space. You can work with the online point cloud with impressive visual quality thanks to efficient streaming. Meanwhile, you can also see the project structure created in NavVis directly in the plugin. By the way, we are currently preparing a webinar: https://www.navvis.com/resources/webinars/de/scan-to-bim-mit-navvis-qbitec-und-siemens

  • Smooth Modelling in Revit eben with REALLY big pointclouds
    Kai Keser | March 19, 2025

At the moment we are modeling the existing piping systems in the technical storey of a wafer fab. As you can imagine the file size is massive. Before we used qbitec, we needed to separate the point cloud into smaller areas and download and load them into the model manually.

+ With qbitec we have the full sized point cloud as a reference and Revit works smooth as ever!

+ The point cloud view mode x-ray really helps us identifying and modeling the piping systems in areas with high pipe density.

Great to have this plugin, thanks to the devs 👍🏻

Thank you very much. Let us know if we can improve anything! We have many ideas of our own, but user requests are, of course, particularly motivating.
