Creating Amazing Apps for Engineers!
Phocaz Inc. develops and maintains Add-Ins for several large agencies and engineering organizations in North America. Phocaz can provide seriveces addrissing the complete software development life-cycle (SDLC) including analysis, design, development, testing and documentation. The team is proficient in several software development technologies including C/C++ and .Net managed code like C#. The team can be flexible and if needed they can build in other languages including VB.Net and older tech like VB/VBA. The team is dedicated to keeping pace with CAD development technologies and earlier this year participated in the Forge Accelerator held at Autodesk offices in San Francisco.
At Phocaz, we believe that it's not enough to understand how to code. It's essential that our team has a strong understanding of engineering principles. Having an understanding of how our customers do their work is key to determining how to build software tools that are intuitive and make sense of the engineering world. Our approach to a project involves not just taking an order of requirements, but truly building a clear picture of our client's practice, process and/or approach. Having analyzed this path, we can then overlay this with current technology and the trends we see in the industry. It's easy when processes are pen and paper based to say we need a mobile solution, but just transfering a paper-based workflow to a tablet may not solve the problem. Our team leaders have both engineering and business accumen, as well as technology skills. Let us help you make sense of tech and show you how best to apply it to your business.
A few years back, our co-founder, Mark Stefanchuk wrote an application called PhotogeoDWG. The use case was simple, capture existing conditions photos with your smart phone and use CAD to document where these photos were taken. The first app was simple taking just a couple of weeks to build. Thousands of you have downloaded the app, and found ways to use this simple tool. The add-in has grown into the Pro version with dozems pf features supporting all of AutoCAD geo-coordinates. And it runs on five different versions of AutoCAD. Of course this new version has taken just a little longer to make it a professionally viable app, but if we can do that for ourselves, imagine what we might do for you!
