Every experienced civil designer always needs a little bit extra to help them get their projects over the line in a timely fashion. As a solo developer and also still working as a civil Designer, I have attempted to create some multipurpose tools that help people sort out their everyday problems. From Batch creation tools to Surface analysis tools, there is bound to be something in here that will make your life a bit easier. Some highlights include;
The "String extractor", easily extracts linework from designs provided as 3D faces or as an Autodesk® Civil 3D® Tin Surface. Great for back calculating how a surface was created, also very useful for creating strings for your drawing xrefs.
"Batch Create Surfaces Profiles / Profiles Views". Have you already created 20 profile views and you just want to add one or two more surfaces to them all at once? Or maybe you just want to quickly make a bunch of profile views quickly for multiple alignments.
"Theme Manager" Sick of changing all the styles and layers every time you want to look at a different part of your design? Now you can save the state of all your styles and return to it whenever you want! You can even create multiple states.
Civil 3d is awful for making more than a very few surface profiles with having to repeat every single dumb setting for each one.
Had hopes for a slightly faster alternative with this tool but after install i cant see it load anywhere.
Running on 2026 version, could that be why autocad wont even try to load it ?
I stumbled upon a post you made years ago about stage curves and then discovered this tool. Thank you so much, its a great help almost daily! Do you have any other tools or tips we should know about?
Hey glad i could help.. Yeah if your into stage storages and doing lots of them.. Check out my QGIS tools here as well. They get added to the processing toolbox and allow you to do Auto-Basin Detection and "Batch" stages storages.. so you can do multiple stages storage at once!
