Drawing Central’s main purpose is to save Drafters (and Engineers) time and effort. Confusion can be a real drain on your productivity. Stress from trying to find the appropriate drawing register is a good example. So the ability to quickly load the correct register and update your drawing title blocks can be very useful.
This is where Drawing Central comes in. By managing a project-based configuration system to reduce confusion. It also has an extremely easy to use interface. You can work with perfectly standard title blocks and excel files. Once your drawing has been configured it knows exactly where to find the project file and therefore the correct drawing register. This allows for the other part of the equation. Automation. Now you have this “link”, you can automatically update (or sync) your drawings with the latest project data.
Currently, Autodesk products AutoCAD, Autodesk® Inventor® and Autodesk® Revit® are compatible with this application. This gives single users, or multi-disciplined project teams, the ability to share a “centralised” version of the drawing register. For example, using Drawing Central in a "cloud" based environment such as Autodesk® AutoCAD® Plant 3D and Autodesk® Advanced Steel in an Autodesk® BIM 360® collaboration.

To help get you started, you will receive FREE working examples of an enhanced drawing register and title block. Once Drawing Central is installed and you have the dialog box up, you will get a message with the location of the files. To get the 30 day FREE trial period and full functionality, go to the help tab and select “GO Register” and then log in. Once that expires, the registration cost is from $3.75 per 30 days or $45.62 per full year (AUD plus tax and charges).
We've been using this for number of years now and the time it saves updating titleblocks is incredible!
We have customised our titleblock to suit our needs and using the Excel spreadsheet to automatically update eliminates the risk of missing data.
As well as using it for AutoCAD, we use it for Inventor and are now starting to use it with Revit & Advance Steel.
