LayerApps includes the following seven needed Layer Applications for Autodesk® AutoCAD®:
(1) DDLyrAdd - Places in a list box Layer Names to Add: Prefix/Suffix/Both
(2) DDLyrCas - Places in a list box Layer Names to Change: 1st Letter to Uppercase/All Uppercase/All Lowercase
(3) DDLyrF&R - Places in a list box Layer Names to Find & Replace matching characters at: Start/End/All of Layer Name
(4) DDLyrOn - Places in a list box All Layer Names turned Off to be turned On
(5) DDLyrTh - Places in a list box All Layer Names Frozen to be Thawed
(6) DDLyrVpC - Places in a list box Layer Names to Change to a different Color selected from large 255 Color Swatches
(7) DDLyrDes - Places in a list box Layer Names sorted by their Description to perform the following operations: Case/Edit/F+R/Status/Color/Pick/Filter
This is what I was looking for, thank you! It saved me a lot of time! I would like to see in a future version the ability to trim a fixed number of symbol in the prefix and suffix
Glad this app is saving you lots of time. Your wish to trim a prefix or suffix by a fix number of digits is a very good one. I'll keep that in mind for future updates.
Great set of tools - simple and work. Batch renaming layers was my issue - this does it perfectly. I wanted to rename 60 random named topo survey layers with the prefix 'TOPO_' did it in a few seconds.

I have been looking for such an app for a long time.
But the problem is that the same characters do not change. for example: ..-a-.. cannot be changed to ..-a-pre-.. And how can I remove the suffix?
