Hope future version can add support to be able to purge sheetset.

Some times it can corrupt your DWG file if your have PDF underlay. (no error message but your file size goes down to 1~2kb)

I've written dwg appid cleaners for years, and trying to purge app ids on "open" drawing will lock you up when there are a lot (50k...). The better way is top open the drawing as "dbx doc" which is something programmers do. Its not hard. The author should allow you to pick drawings not open, rather than operate on current dwg. Its 10x faster and super stable.

On the right of the screen it list compatibility with 2018 thru 2022.

In the text it lists compatibility with 2012 - 2022.

I have 2014, will it still work?

Ajilal, you have a great program here and I use it on a daily basis, I do have 1 request though, would it be possible to add a lineweight toggle (on or off) selection?  I have a number of ex-.dgn files that all have their lineweights turned on and to see the files in Vault I need to toggle the lineweight off over about 1000 files.

Hi, I've downloaded this to hopefully not only save time running multiple purge and cleanup commands. But, I was hoping it would also delete redundant Data Links.
However, it doesn't seem to do this? Can it be modified to do this also?

Great tool love the batch option. Helps me save alot of time in auditing and cleaning out surplus data in mulitpile Civil 3d drawings all xrefed together.

ACAD was constantly lagging hard every time it autosaved or I did the copybase command. I had a ton of unused linetypes that I couldn't delete that seemed to be causing the problem. This little app cleared that up in an instant. Can't thank you enough!

I can't tell you how many hours this has saved me in the first ten minutes of using.  Works perfectly and love all the extra options beyond just standard purge operations

This addon works great, just one question I have is, does it only work with base autocad or will it work with different versions (ie, plant 3D, MEP, electrical, etc.)

It works well. It reduced more than half of the file size. But in Autocad 2021, it doesn't give the best result. 

YOU SAVE MY DAY!! I ALREADY WASTE MY DAY SEARCHING TO HOW TO DELETE THESE LINETYPES THAT MAKES MY ACAD FILES SO BIG EVENTHOUGH ITS JUST A SIMPLE DRAWINGS INSIDE.

Drawing purge is a great and seamless add-on. It's quick, simple and easy to understand. For the most part it does the job great. However, I am having issues with purging plot styles, configurations, some shape files and standards that aren't going away when I open a batch of files in a Reference Manager. Not sure what the solution or problem is there.. ?

dear Ajilal, I am working with AutoCAD LT vers. 2020 on a 2D file in which drawings of machinery/equipments from multiple external suppliers have been inserted.

Once the blocks were removed, the file exploded at 360 Mb and no longer allows me to copy and export objects to another file. The program starts copying the selected object works for many minutes and then stops so I have to force the closure in order to exit. I have seen that Drawing-purge could solve the problem but unfortunately it is not compatible with AutoCAD LT. Is there an analogous LT compatible plug-in package that can solve my problem? Many thanks in advance for your help.

Batch purge are very useful to purge multiple drawinngs and at the same time, downgrade the file version.

It really works. It makes drawings smaller and can convert a lot of files to older versions at same time.

This is excellent application.

However, I have problem using DWG-PURGE-BATCH command, i.e. dialog box does not show up.

FILEDIA is set to 1.

It stucks on activation and I caanot see dialog box.

Any idea why?

I work as a civi8l designer and I have been using this for years, it is especially useful when receiving cad drawings complete within other software packages. It purges all the unnecessary and useless data.

Its helps me to clean my unsnecessary files..thanks to the maker..

Very nice tool, have been using for a long time. However I am getting a new error recently in the Status field of the progress window: "Error: INDEXCTL must be Zero". About 20% of my files are skipped due to this error. Any ideas?

Thank you SO MUCH! I was struggling with the file size increase after I copy pasted from another consultant's file. Autodesk's hotfix solution wasn't working and this worked like a charm. Went from 25 to 1.6MB within minutes. Thanks so much. So glad I found this.

The app is great and efficient but it doesn't respect settings/preferences. Even when you change the preferences in the xml files, it returns to default settings.

The program with each version is becoming more interesting. I ask the developer not to leave her.

when I use purge batch it hangs up I cant open the purge batch box. in my command show loading mep.purge batch opens to another window, problem is I cannot switch to that window.

Thank you so much! This plugin is superb. My empty template file where I save all my styles had been ballooning over the years to over 5mb. Now it's down to under 2mb and a whole lot of un-purgable layers and junk have disappeared.

Dear Ajin First of all thank you so much for this program we are having serious problems with the dgn linetypes. Our drawings are full with linetypes e.g. XREF_00$0$_19_A_B…_R00$0${ Tapered Dash } we can eliminate them with dxf and audit or using purge in autocad 2015 I was really happy to find batch purge because we are having a couple of hundred of those files which are out of control, so far batch purge is reducing the file size but not eliminating thoese linetypes is there anything we are doing wrong? Would really appreciate some help about that. lg alex

i was working with one file size of 50MB, which is not having so many objects in it. but whenever I tried to save or copy objects to other drawings, autocad get hangs. it takes lot of time. after I run this "DWG-PURGE", the file size reduced to 2MB now it is not taking time. thank you Ajilal Vijayan

Will the 'Save file as' have version 2013 added in the future as we have 2018 but would like to save down to version 2013. Thanks.

There is one or two files during batch purging that are corrupted during the process (civil3d 2016). The files are even locked so you can't even delete the file without involving server admin. If this issue is fixed would easily be a 5 star!!

Eu utilizava a versão 6.3 e o usar o "purge-Batch" funcionava porém não explodia os blocos que estavam em uso no desenho atual, porém com essa nova versão v7.0 o aplicativo explode o bloco em uso. isto não pode acontecer, pois o aplicativo "Drawing Purge" nao pode interferir no desenho atual e também nao pode mudar as características do desenho corrente. por este motivo tive que voltar para a versão 6.3 para continuar usando em perfeitas condições. Initial running of Dwg purge batch works perfectly!! but when i close my drawing then re-run again dwg purge Batch i got error (Exception in aecarch.dbx ARX Command) and cannot execute that command. how to fixs this? im using Drawing Purge v 7.0.0.0 on autocad 2013 & 2016 same problem

Had a problem with an export from a Plant3D model. Was able to audit and purge, but wasn't able to save the drawing. This addin worked like a charm auditing, purging and saving the drawing. Saved me a ton of work!

Hello, I have a warm greeting, I have revoked your application and it works excellent in autocad 2014, but since I can not install 2016 and 2017, maybe I'm doing something wrong, downloading the link and executing it, now I'm doing it right . I asked the application installed in all versions instantly or there to route it to be so I tried to load through customize, and although I load the icons when invoking them does not recognize them ...! I get this error: "err00: The calling thread must be STA, because many UI components require this" On closing the app acad gets a fatall error... ;( Version info: 6.3.0.0 Thnx for fixing this!

I just have tried v6.3.0.0 on ACAD 2017x64 in a project folder of 94 Files. Total folders size has been reducted from 187mb to 76.5mb without any look strange on the drawings on the first impression and with most of the used drawings been purged frequently. Seems promising, so keep up the good work!

Update Fixed: Houston we have a problem. Suddenly on day the DWG-PURGE-BATCH plugin decided to stop showing up it self anymore! I Have uninstalled an re-installed AjilalVijayanDrawingPurge700.msi again -still not working, took the hard decision to reset the AutoCAD 2018 interface -still not working, i m really not shure if Uninstalling AutoCAD will work out. DWG-PURGE command works perfectly as it should but when i type the DWG-PURGE-BACH command it loads it self and displays the taskbar icon next to AutoCAD, but the main window is not visible and the only think i can do its press escape to continue working. Please HELP! - Fixed

I tried using batch purge. File size increased from 10 MB to 15 MB instead of decreasing.

At first I was having issues with this when it would hang up on 1 drawing in a group which was really frustrating. We use 2017 ACADE. After trouble shooting with Ajilal Vijayan over a period of time, the newer version works really well and saved me a large amount of time.

When we ran a Batch Purge with this App on a drawing directory in AutoCAD 2013 and AutoCAD 2016 using the Select Folder option in Drawing Purge version 6.1.0.0 all of our Block Attributes done in Mtext were shifted randomly out of place and our title blocks looked awful. In AutoCAD 2017 it appears the Mtext block attributes stay in place.
