The ORIS plugin for Civil 3D is available as a free download from the Autodesk App Store. However, to access full functionality, you'll need an ORIS license.

When you launch the plugin in Civil 3D for the first time, a pop-up window will prompt you to either log in or sign up for the 14-day free trial. 


Choosing the trial option will redirect you to a registration page where you'll need to provide your name, email, phone number, company, and country. No credit card is required.


After verifying your email address and creating a password, you can log in to the plugin and experience its advanced features during the trial period. Before the trial ends, you'll receive a notification.


Once the trial is over, you can choose to subscribe to the Expert or Advanced plan from the ORIS website, depending on your feature requirements. Both plans are monthly subscriptions, billed annually.


If you decide not to subscribe, the plugin will remain accessible, but its functionality will be limited, and data exchange between ORIS and your Civil 3D model will be disabled.

Update **A. Bug Fixes:** 1. Updated materials now reflect accurately after deleting a material from ORIS or applying a new design model in C3D. 2. Rectified the relocation of 2D projects following the repositioning of the project point in C3D. 3. Resolved the error message occurrence when attempting to access a project not owned or deleted on ORIS. 4. Addressed the issue where deleting a 3D project could lead to a "no keyfound error" display. **B. Enhancements:** 1. Automatically applies production site search radius based on site type, streamlining the process. 2. Forbidden characters in layer names are now properly displayed in the console for easy identification. 3. Implemented a warning message prompt when users attempt to apply a new design model to an already exported project. 4. Added functionality to duplicate material tables/pavement options from libraries, facilitating project customization. 5. Provided the option to duplicate materials/material layers from libraries, enhancing project management flexibility. 6. Introduced default density settings for each material, allowing customization from the materials library for improved accuracy in simulations and designs.

    For Civil 3D users focused on sustainable infrastructure design. It allows to easilly quantify the carbon footprint of projects. The ability to link designs with local material databases provides insights into minimizing environmental impact and optimizing cost. Design iterations are also valuable for making informed decisions early in the design process. A must have for any Civil 3D user aiming to prioritize sustainability in their projects !
