The plugin creates single shafts or reductions for a given number of stages with straight or helical gears. All operations will be automatically grouped as a single shaft on a timeline.

 

 

Available features:

  • adding start shaft,
  • length of start shaft (mm),
  • diameter of start shaft (mm),
  • unlimited number of stages,
  • for each stage independently:
  •  - module (mm),
  •  - pressure angle of gear (14.5 - 25 deg),
  •  - clearance factor of gear (0 - 0.3, clearance = factor * module),
  •  - thickness of gear (mm),
  •  - shape of gear's teeth (straight, helical - left/right hand),
  •  - helix angle of gear (10 - 45 deg, for helical),
  •  - number of gear's teeth,
  •  - backlash of gear (mm, as arc length),
  •  - root fillet radius factor of gear (0 - clearance factor, radius = factor * module),
  •  - profile coefficient factor of gear (0 - 1, profile shift = factor * module),
  •  - teeth direction of gear (left (L) or right (R) for helical teeth),
  •  - adding end shaft,
  •  - length of end shaft (mm),
  •  - diameter of length shaft (mm),
  •  - adding chamfers,
  •  - chamfer width factor (width = factor * module),
  •  - chamfer height factor (height = factor * module),
  •  - chamfers mode (both/right/left)
  • button for saving parameters,
  • button for loading parameters,
  • button for resetting parameters,
  • auto-loading last used parameters when "Ok" has been clicked last time,
  • showing progress

 

 

Execution of the plugin generally takes less than a half minute on i7/8GB RAM/512GB SSD computer. For a larger number of teeth, especially for long, helical gears, it can take a few minutes. In case when all stages have the same values of parameters process will be faster because the first stage will be simply copied. During the operation a progress bar with the current step is visible.

 

Disclaimer:

Please make sure that the load analysis is done on gears or/and shafts designed by this plugin in real machines before releasing it to production. An additional check is needed especially in case of undercuts:

  • section analysis,
  • interference analysis,
  • load analysis,
  • joints and motion simulation.

 

If you want to manufacture and use gears and shafts designed by this plugin in real machines, remember that they can break during load and cause damages, severe injuries or death of people without tests.
