IDEA StatiCa Connection enables engineers to analyze, design and check steel connections/joints of any topology and loading. And does it in minutes.
It works as a standalone application as well as the next step in workflow started in programs Autodesk® Advance Steel®, Autodesk® Revit® and Autodesk® Robot™ Structural Analysis Professional.
Any topology:
- Welded/bolted connections, base plate, footing, anchoring
- Rolled, welded or cold-formed sections
- Cuts, stiffeners, wideners, ribs, openings, end plates, fin plates, gusset plates, stubs, cleats
- More joints in one project, complete code-checks, overall report, bill of material, drawings
- General cross-section - welded sections composed of any number of different profiles
Any loading and analysis:
- Nonlinear analysis of steel profiles and plates, bolts in tension and shear, welds. 2D or 3D loading
- Several design codes support (EN, AISC-LRFD, AISC-ASD, CISC, AS, SP, GB, HKG, IS)
- Buckling analysis - local buckling of any plate in the connection
- Stiffness analysis - initial stiffness and deformation capacity of any connected member
- Capacity design - check the connection on the maximal moment which can be taken by connected member
- Design joint resistance - ratio of maximal load to the design load

- Download idea-statica.msi install file and run it.
- Open the application with License manager
- Sign up for the 14-day free trial
- Fill in the webform
- Check your mailbox to get your credentials and sign in IDEA StatiCa

How to start using IDEA StatiCa Connection with Autodesk Advance Steel.
- Install Autodesk Advance Steel
- Install IDEA StatiCa and BIM Link Installer is automatically launched at the end of the installation process. Select your version of Advance Steel and click the Install button.
- Open your project in Advance Steel, use the IDEA StatiCa – Checkbot button in the top ribbon
- IDEA StatiCa Code-check manager is automatically launched and you can start the export

- Install Revit
- Install Robot Structural Analysis Professional if applicable
- Install Structural Analysis Toolkit for Autodesk Revit if applicable

- Open your project in Revit, run the IDEA StatiCa – Checkbot button in the top ribbon

- Install Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis Professional

- Open and calculate your project in Robot, open the Code-check manager in Add-Ins – IDEA StatiCa
- IDEA StatiCa Code-check manager is automatically launched and you can start the export

IDEA StatiCa Connection is based on a unique CBFEM method that combines finite element and component method. Model and mesh creation is fully automated and enables structural engineers and fabricators to properly check any joint according to various design codes.
This app was developed by IDEA StatiCa, AEC Solution Associate of Autodesk – recommended provider of steel connection design for Autodesk users.

Please download 22.0.2 version - it is already linked with Robot 2023.
I downloaded it but it seems it doesn't work again. there is not the connection key in project -import
I tested it out of Revit and was really powerfull. I don't know other software with this capabilities to make any desired joint. Go to test how it works with Revit...............
Do we need to purchase robot structural analysis and structural analysis took kit to use this connection design feature? or can we just have this took and revit only to design the connection?
IDEA StatiCa works with only Revit (without Robot) as well.
I have been active in design software for more than a decade. IDEA Connection brings a fresh new approach in steel connection design which no other design software has. With their CBFEM method IDEA can design also the difficult and not so day-to-day steelconnections. With IDEA BIM you can link to other software like Robot, Advance Steel.
Impressive modeling capabilities! I struggled a little bit with the activation.
