G.plus
Beschreibung
G.plus — Smarter Data Management & Visualization for Autodesk® Revit®.
G.plus is an open-source Revit add-in from the G.algos ecosystem, designed to make model data more accessible, editable, and visually meaningful.
It empowers both Revit users and external stakeholders by bridging modelling and documentation through Excel integration and real-time data visualization.
What G.plus Does
Data Links: Revit ↔ Excel Integration
- Link Revit schedules to external Excel sheets
- Sync data both ways with full control: Pull, Push, Compare, and Sync
- Let non-Revit users (e.g. FM, cost consultants) collaborate via spreadsheets
- Dynamically create or update parameters from Excel columns
- Create or delete model elements (Rooms, Spaces, Sheets) by editing rows
Preserve full model integrity while enabling powerful external data workflows
Merge Conflicts, Don’t Overwrite Them
The Compare & Merge interface shows Revit and Excel values side by side, row by row.
- Select which changes to accept: Pull (Excel → Revit) or Push (Revit → Excel)
- Avoid unnecessary overwrites or accidental data loss
- Ideal for collaborative environments with parallel Excel editing
Granular control for serious model/data coordination.
Location Schemes: Data-Driven Visualization
- Colour elements in views based on any parameter — nominal or numeric
- Use predefined categories and apply filters like:
- By Value → for things like room type, department, fire rating
- By Range → for area, height, occupancy, etc.
- Customize colours and patterns per parameter value
Turn abstract data into instant visual feedback, directly in Revit views.
Seamless Integration
- Apply schemes to Floor Plans, Sections, 3D, and Detail views
- Refresh schemes to reflect model updates
- Include or exclude linked models as needed
Why Use G.plus?
- Clarity: Understand your model data at a glance
- Control: Keep Excel in the loop without breaking BIM workflows
- Efficiency: Edit, sync, and visualize faster than ever
- Trust: Built by AEC professionals, for AEC professionals
Example Use Cases
- QA/QC on parameter consistency
- Visual area audits by range (e.g. >20m², 10–20m², <10m²)
- Managing room data sheets externally via Excel
- Classifying elements visually by usage, fire rating, or department
File Versioning
The File Versioning feature allows users to track different versions of a document, visualize changes in 3D objects, and generate reports highlighting the differences between the current document state and previous versions.
Save Version
The Save Version command saves the current state of the document as a new version. This allows users to preserve progress and create checkpoints for comparison later.
Version History
The Version History command opens a window where users can view all previously saved versions of the current document and inspect the differences.
Version List
The Version List displays all saved versions of the document. Users can select any version to compare it with the current document state.
Main Table
The main table shows all modified 3D elements:
- Green — Elements that were added.
- Red — Elements that were removed.
Each row represents a single changed element, allowing users to quickly identify what has been modified.
Right-side Actions
- View — Opens a new 3D view highlighting the changes: modified elements in yellow, newly added elements in green.
- Export — Generates a report of all changes in .xlsx format for documentation or sharing purposes.
Open Source and Community-Driven
