Opis
Have you ever had a meaningful digital tool to help you resolve building assembly design problems? After the long wait for the advent of the tool, a group of architects and software engineers with AEC backgrounds finally developed a collaborative design platform that can:
- Analyze design problems and data from the BIM platform directly.
- Suggest Building Assembly Design solutions for high-performing building envelope designs as visual/interactive diagrams.
- Provide 24/7 design guidance for mentoring.
- AI-powered automated design classification within BIM.
- Fully BIM-integrated D.TO curated content.
- Enhanced design collaboration features. (Coming Late 2024)
Note: This app uses a custom installer (and not the standard App Store installer).

From the moment I first learned about the D.TO Platform, it was clear that this was something ADG Blatt needed to explore. The decision to adopt it was a no-brainer—D.TO brings together everything a modern detailing workflow requires into one cohesive, intelligent system.
The platform’s ability to detect conditions directly from native Revit model instances—and suggest a relevant detail from either our internal library or D.TO’s high-quality content—is a true game-changer. It bridges the gap between model context and construction documentation in a way that feels seamless and intuitive.
For any firm looking to standardize and scale their Revit detailing workflows—whether large or mid-sized—D.TO offers a robust, future-ready platform. The quality of the detail components is exceptional. Everything is built natively in Revit, cleanly modeled, and easy to modify. Just as importantly, the platform avoids the use of filled regions or 2D lines—something our BIM standards strongly discourage. This alignment with best practices saves time and reduces risk.
One of the most valuable features is how D.TO supports emerging professionals. Intern architects at ADGB can now explore components like tapered insulation or insulated panels and understand them within real-world construction details. It empowers them to develop details that are 80% complete before review, lightening the load for senior staff while accelerating learning. It’s not just a detailing tool—it’s a training resource.
We’ve maintained a strong internal detail library for years, but the ability to house that library within the D.TO platform—and have it intelligently surface details based on model conditions—adds an entirely new layer of efficiency. Being able to store and search both our details and company-standard components in one place has completed what we now consider our “one-stop shop” for detailing.
Being among the early adopters of D.TO has given our teams a clear edge in both efficiency and training—and we’re confident this platform is just getting started. The smart AI functionality isn’t just impressive—it’s a working example of how machine learning can solve real architectural pain points in a production setting.
Finally, a huge thanks to Taylor and Nick for their hands-on support. Their responsiveness, technical insight, and commitment to our success made onboarding smooth and enjoyable. It’s clear they understand the day-to-day needs of architects and BIM teams—and they’ve built a platform that reflects that understanding.
D.TO has quickly become an important part of our documentation process. For firms focused on quality, efficiency, and future-proofing their Revit workflows, this platform delivers.
I recently started using D.To and was immediately drawn to its robust content library, customization options, and the ability to upload my firm's own details. Its intelligent model analysis—continuously expanding with each update—is a game-changer.
With a few adjustments on our end in Revit, D.To has been working seamlessly. The ability to share knowledge across the firm and generate 'custom' details in moments significantly speeds up the detailing process. It also gives less experienced team members immediate access to lessons learned, preferred detailing methods, and general construction knowledge.
I’ve been impressed by its capabilities, the frequent improvements and added tools, and the team’s willingness to support our implementation. Whether you're looking to standardize details, enhance efficiency, or reinforce best practices, D.To is a valuable addition to any Revit workflow.
D.TO streamlines my detailing workflow by curating and delivering the right details instantly, making permit sets faster and more efficient. A must-have for design-build projects!
I have been using D.TO for quite some time now and it is amazing how it has developed over the past few years, and how it continues to be a robust tool that keeps getting more powerful. If you are someone who is tired of waiting for quality design guidance at your own firm, or someone eager to learn more about how things are detailed, you will find quality details, along with detailed explanations of each component of that detail (insulation, sheathing, fasteners, clips, veneers, isolation joints, flashing anything you can imagine) and how they work together to create a high performance building envelope. These types of details, as well as an understanding of how they work and how to adapt them to make them applicable to your own unique design intent is critical to creating a quality design that meets the new and increasingly demanding performance requirements of our industry and in order to know that you've done what you can to continue to raise the bar for design, and for our responsibilities as architects to our clients and the environment.
D.TO provides quality BIM content that is amazing for firm's (like mine) that do not have the desire, capabilities or time and money to invest in that for themselves. Many of these detail components come directly from some of the top building manufacturers websites But even if you weren't able to find what you needed in the robust out-of-box library of components, or if your firm has an already established detail library, or specializes in an area that uses unique details (like ours who specialize in performing arts and cruise ship design) it gives you the ability to curate, add, organize, tag and search for details that you upload to your own unique company library. This, combined with the ability to add your own design guidance by way of adding commentary and a variety of supporting files, makes the accumulated knowledge of your firm accessible to designers of all experience ranges within your firm and saves time for senior employees having to spend as much time getting new employees up to speed with your firms design standards.
Needless to say this has already started changing the way our firm works, and with their library of details growing every day alongside our own company library it is bound to become an essential part of our workflows and knowledge sharing process for the indefinite future.
Its definitely worth a try, and even if it isn't the right fit for you now, keep checking back, as the platform is constantly evolving and improving.
The joy of seeing the solution you helped develop now on the Autodesk App Store!
