Find and Replace Materials - Trial

Polynine Studio

System operacyjny:

The Find and Replace Materials for Autodesk® Revit® plugin finds assigned materials in a project document and replaces them with other materials selected by the user. Multiple materials can be selected to be assigned to a single material. Additionally, material assignment rules can be saved to a CSV file within the “batch mode” for later use.

This is a powerful tool for architects and BIM managers that are tasked with standardizing materials within projects. Visualization artists can also save on material setup time, by consolidating like materials before rendering.

  • Merges assigned materials to a single material
  • Merges material assets into a single material asset
  • Records multiple material rules for batch processing
  • Export/Import batch mode material rules to CSV file
  • Runs in Family Editor
  • Supports materials assigned to parameters
  • Supports painted surfaces
  • Supports system families
  • Supports layered families: walls, ceilings, floors, roofs, building pads, etc…
  • Supports parts (when material assignment does not follow parent material)
  • Supports integral wall sweeps (with some limitations)
  • Supports appearance, physical and thermal assets
  • Supports nested families in a family environment
  • Removal of materials from elements by selecting "<By Category>" as new material
  • Deletion of materials after replacing (accessed under settings menu)

Pomoc techniczna
  • Finally something to clean up materials

I have to say I love the plugin and recommend to anyone out there using Revit.

Today I just noticed that, after removing around 40 unassigned materials which Revit just wouldn't purge, the file size jumped from 287MB to 390MB, which is really odd. I haven't checked if that happened to other files in the past but it would be good to see if you guys ever seen that before. Cheers.

Thank you for the positive feedback. It could be that the file was previously saved using the "Compact File" option. Perhaps checking that option on will lower the file size.

Thanks, I'll definitely double check that next time. Great work. Also just fyi, we recently had all our computers upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and for some reason all tools in Revit which had any connection to materials (materials editor, paint tool, etc) slowed down considerably after the update (I mean they went from taking 3 seconds to open to 20 minutes). We later found out some missing texture files were causing the issue but if it wasn't for this plugin we probably wouldn't have found the issue as we were able to troubleshoot materials without using the built in Revit material editor.

  • Cracking Plugin, great stuff

    So happy with this tool.
once I realised I could batch replace, I cleaned up a horrific file in about 10 minutes, would have taken half a day easy to do otherwise. has paid for itself on the first use.

I highly recommend this economical and efficient tool.

Only comment, I need a 2019 version, please.
