Описание

The Time Tracker tool allows you to automatically record the time spent on each project, along with the corresponding number of actions performed. This dual-metric approach ensures that productivity is accurately assessed, preventing misleading interpretations when only time is tracked.

Once installed, the Time Tracker add-in for Autodesk® Revit® automatically captures project activity without requiring any user intervention. By continuously recording both the duration of work and the number of actions performed, it generates a dynamic dashboard with five distinct sections:

  • General Information: Displays key project details, including the project name, current date and time, and the identifier of the user who generated the dashboard.
  • Work Time: This shows the total accumulated work time for the project and the specific work time logged on the current day.
  • Hourly Operation Frequency: Displays a visual breakdown of the number of actions performed per hour for each day, ensuring a clear and precise correlation between recorded work time and actual daily productivity.
  • Global Statistics: Presents comprehensive metrics such as the start date of activity tracking, the total number of unique days recorded, and the average hours worked per day on the project.
  • Copy to Clipboard: This generates an image snapshot of the dashboard, making it effortless to share the report via email, chat, or other editing software with a simple copy-and-paste action.
  • Idle Timeout: Defines the maximum period of inactivity before tracking is paused. This ensures that only effective work time is recorded. Setting the value to 00:00 keeps tracking active at all times.

  • Essential for project tracking
Frank Wechsler | ноября 06, 2025 Проверенная загрузка (Что это такое?)

Time Tracker has become a central tool in our organization. It provides a clear overview of the time spent on each project, which helps us justify our work to clients and improve internal management. Accurate tracking data allows us to adjust rates, balance workloads, and better understand where our resources are going. The ability to export structured data for use in other professional tools makes reporting and analysis easier. A reliable and very useful solution for our Revit-based workflow.

  • What a great program
Jeffery Cuppy Harwood | августа 19, 2025 Проверенная загрузка (Что это такое?)

It's a great program and I look forward to the features others have posted about (idle time, not having the clock reset, etc.)

    Francis Baucher (Разработчик) | августа 23, 2025

Thank you Jeffery for your feedback ! I'll be adding an idle-time pause option in the next release (WIP), but before I roll that out I need to identify what's causing the clock reset some users see. So could you tell me whether you're running a customized or non-standard version of Windows and whether the folder : C:\Users\[USER]\AppData\Local\_fbToolkit - exists on your machine and contains .csv files ?

Hi Jeffery, thanks again for your helpful feedback ! The new version of Time Tracker is now live and the issue you mentioned has been fixed. You can update directly from the Autodesk App Store. I really appreciate your support it helped refine this release.

  • Automated Stop Watch
    Matt Meyer | июля 18, 2025

If it's designed to be an automated stop watch, then it works just fine. But i think the intent here is to track your time over the duration of the project. which it doesn't do.

If im working in project01, and open up project02, Time Tracker is still running on project01. Unless i close out of revit entirely, which i'm not going to do every time.

In addition, every time you reopen Revit, it restarts the clock at zero (including "Total time worked on project") So if anyone is looking for billable hours, there's additional step that one has to do manually within the reports.

So essentially: its an automatic stopwatch that keeps time if you're only working on a single project during the work day and you'd have to manually compile all the reports over all the days for billable hours.

Thank you so much for your detailed feedback Matt, it really helps me pinpoint the root of the issue ! I’ve taken careful note of how the tracker behaves when switching projects and resetting on restart, and I’ll get to work right away on a fix. Thanks again for bringing this to my attention ;)

    Francis Baucher (Разработчик) | ноября 01, 2025

Hi Matt, thanks a lot for your detailed review, it was spot-on. The latest version of Time Tracker now fixes both issues you mentioned: the timer no longer resets when Revit restarts, and project switching is handled automatically. You can get the update directly from the Autodesk App Store. Really appreciate your feedback, it helped improve the tool for everyone.

  • Daily reset
Max Bobrowski | июля 16, 2025 Проверенная загрузка (Что это такое?)

The concept is great, but it doesn’t seem to work properly for me.
Each day it resets the count instead of showing the total accumulated days and hours.
Not sure if I set it up incorrectly or if it's a bug. Would appreciate some help from the developers.

    Francis Baucher (Разработчик) | июля 21, 2025

Thank you Max for taking the time to share your experience ! I’ve identified the root cause of the daily reset and you’re absolutely right that the counter isn’t accumulating across sessions, several other users have reported the very same behavior. I’m already working on a solution. I’ll keep you posted on my progress and have a fix out as soon as possible. Thanks again for your helpful feedback !

    Francis Baucher (Разработчик) | ноября 01, 2025

Hi Max, thanks again for your feedback, it helped a lot. The new release of Time Tracker fixes the daily reset issue you reported. The timer now keeps cumulative time across sessions, as originally intended. You can update it directly from the Autodesk App Store. Appreciate your support and for helping improve the add-in.

  • Excellent simple interface...but..
Roger Krizanec | июня 27, 2025 Проверенная загрузка (Что это такое?)

would pay for this to do this.. if it had idle time setting.

Great looking, simple, works as soon as project is open..

But please tell us there is a way to set an "idel time stop recording" i.e. when Revit / proejct not in use (say your at lunch) then can it not record???

    Francis Baucher (Разработчик) | июля 21, 2025

Thank you Roger for your enthusiasm ! I originally aimed to keep the add-in as streamlined as possible with no extra settings, but your request is completely justified. In fact, several other users have asked for an idle-time cutoff as well. I’ll be integrating an "idle time stop recording" option in the next update so that the timer pauses when Revit isn’t in use. Stay tuned for the release ;)

    Francis Baucher (Разработчик) | ноября 01, 2025

Hi Roger, thanks again for your great feedback, your request has now been implemented. The latest version of Time Tracker includes a configurable idle-time pause option: after a set period of inactivity, the timer automatically stops counting until you resume work in Revit. You can update the add-in directly from the Autodesk App Store. Appreciate your support and suggestion, it really helped shape this feature.

  • Love it but needs to update this
    Saurabh Prajapati | мая 07, 2025

If I open two or multiple projects at the same time, it is only showing time duration for the 1st project.

    Francis Baucher (Разработчик) | мая 08, 2025

Thank you for your feedback, Saurabh ! To help me address this properly, could you please clarify what you mean by "two or multiple projects at the same time" ? Are you referring to two separate Revit sessions/windows, or multiple projects opened within the same Revit session ? Also, could you specify what you consider to be the "first project" ? That would help me understand the context better and make the necessary adjustments. Thanks again for pointing this out !

    Saurabh Prajapati | мая 09, 2025

Thank you for your reply. I was talking about Multiple projects in same Revit session.

    Saurabh Prajapati | мая 09, 2025

Thank you for your reply. I was talking about Multiple projects in same Revit session. And First Project means if I open "Project01" first and then "project02" in same revit session, timer will show only "Project01" data. Thank you

    Francis Baucher (Разработчик) | ноября 01, 2025

Hi Saurabh, thank you again for your clear feedback and follow-up. The new version of Time Tracker now supports multiple projects within the same Revit session each project is tracked independently. You can update from the Autodesk App Store to get this fix. Your detailed explanation really helped fine-tune the feature.
