Nav to Rev
描述
When working out of an Autodesk® Navisworks® model while using Autodesk® Revit® as your design software, Nav to Rev allows a user to instantly transfer geometry and points from Navisworks to Revit in real-time.
Many times, it becomes necessary to reference geometry in a Navisworks model from a file that was not provided to you. With the Mesh->Revit functionality you can instantly transfer the selected geometry from Navisworks to the last active Revit View. You also have the option to export all selected objects as one piece of generic geometry in Revit, or you can export each selected object separately.
Have you ever been working with a Navisworks model and had to reference a location in Revit? The Points->Revit tool allows you to instantly reference points used in the measurement tool into the last active Revit view. Simply snap some points using the "Point to Point" measurement tool in Navisworks, then select the "Points->Revit" button in the ribbon.
Pre-requisite: Both Revit and Navisworks need to be installed on your machine to transfer the points or geometry from Navisworks to Revit.
This is hands down one of the best BIM tools whether you're an AutoCAD user or Revit user. Being able to import objects from Navisworks straight into Revit is a game changer not only for coordination but also for shop drawings.
We use AutoCAD for our shop drawings but often times I will need to break our drawings into sections or create section views. Using this tool, I can load our drawing into Navisworks, mesh it into Revit and then do whatever views I need straight in Revit. This works much better than simply linking the CAD file in Revit because Revit cannot section CAD files properly.
It's also great if a contractor won't/can't provide a DWG file and only provides an NWC. You can simply mesh their entire NWC into Revit and then export it as a 3D solid DWG file for use in AutoCAD or whatever other program you need the DWG for.
This tool has changed how I do coordination. Allowing me to directly pull in any other trades material into my revit and coordinate from there has allowed me to thread the needle much easier. Must have for any Detailer/Coordinator
This tool saves me tons of time and is changing my Navis/Revit coordination workflow. A must have for anyone doing MEP coordination with other trades, architectural, and structural!
