Use Matterport Plug-in for Autodesk® Revit® to reduce design and construction costs
Now with the Matterport plug-in, you can seamlessly:
- Import your Matterport Point Cloud (E57 or .XYZ) files and seamlessly convert, share and render them within Revit.
- Download Matterport Scan-To-BIM assets directly from our Platform and import them into a new or existing project.
Incorporating Matterport into your BIM (Building Information Modelling) process can help reduce virtual design and construction costs and help you win more bids.
Using Matterport technology you can: Generate OBJ files and point clouds for as-builts and construction documentation; Scan tight areas 10–15 times faster than with a typical lidar scanner; Take measurements in difficult-to-access areas such as pipes, trusses, and ceiling beams; Overlay your point cloud onto your BIM model to conduct verification.

Converts Pro3 scans through Revit without any post-processing with recap pro. Auto-alignment of scans without needing to manually stitch scans together. Takes a little time to process but is much faster than doing it manually.
Also works with "As-built" for Revit (through Faro) to create rasters of floor plans for easy modeling.

Plug In was much needed to speed up a workflow that use to involve ReCap software conversion. When you transfer the file from the cloud, it automatically downloads an .rcp file to your computer which is great if your end software accepts .rcps as well such as navisworks, etc.
Tested it out with a 1000 scan file, under 6 minutes it took me to make a coffe and come back until it was done. Well done

This Plug-in allows users to get to the needed .RCP file quicker by eliminating the manual steps associated with importing Matterport's MatterPak .XYZ and assocaited texture files into Recap.
