Data Ctrl automatically pushes parametric information through the entire MEP network, maintaining up-to-date parameter values as you modify the network's elements. For electrical networks such as conduits and cable trays, Data Ctrl pushes the parameter values to the Run Schedule. If any changes are made to the Run Schedule, they are transferred accordingly to the conduit or cable tray network.


Data Ctrl operates quietly in the background, allowing you to concentrate on what matters most. You simply select the parameters you want to use, and our app takes care of the rest.

Data Ctrl also offers additional features to streamline data management in your model:


  • Export Schedule: Enables you to export schedules to Excel® file(s) even without Excel installed on your system, making data handling more efficient.
  • Match Parameters: This feature allows you to copy parameter values from one run to multiple others.
  • Equipment From and To: Copy the equipment name value to the selected runs.


When editing individual elements in a run, Data Ctrl pushes updated parameter values to all connected elements or a single run to maintain consistent information in the schedules.

To change this setting, go to: Parameters -> Selected Parameters -> When Editing.


Understanding a Single Run


A single run includes all connected conduits (cable trays, ducts, or pipes) and fittings of the 'Elbow' type. Any other type of fitting breaks a run into two or more segments. This rule applies to all systems.

This update addresses a reported issue that occurred when splitting conduits connected to devices such as electrical fixtures or fittings. In the past, when an element was split, data was obtained from the first connected element found, which could have been a device rather than the element being split. To resolve this issue, Data Ctrl has been updated to prioritize MEP curve elements (conduits, cable trays, ducts, and pipes) as the primary source of information when a new element is added.

    I've been using this for a little over 8 months in conjunction wiht Select +. I don't know how many hours this has saved me during our electrical design and modeling process but it's easily in the hundreds.
