About CDE Sync

CDE Sync is Utopia Digital's core software platform, created to solve a critical and persistent problem in the AECO industry: fragmented, inconsistent data across vendor Common Data Environments. Many infrastructure projects use multiple CDEs such as Autodesk Construction Cloud® (ACC), Autodesk® BIM 360®, Bentley ProjectWise, Microsoft SharePoint, Asite, InEight, 12D Synergy, Oracle Aconex, and Procore, each with its own unique metadata structures, file versioning logic, and integration capabilities. As a result, project teams often default to performing manual file transfers between these CDE systems, requiring file downloads, renaming, metadata reformatting, re-uploads, and revalidation. This process is time-consuming, error-prone, and expensive to scale.

CDE Sync addresses this challenge by automating the synchronisation of data and metadata between CDEs in a secure, reliable, repeatable, and scalable manner. It enables organisations to maintain a single source of truth across multiple platforms, preserve version control, reduce manual effort, and ensure that models and documents remain synchronised and compliant throughout the lifecycle of a project.

Authentication

CDE Sync uses 3-legged OAuth authentication when connecting to ACC through the marketplace app. Users sign in with their ACC credentials during initial setup to authorise the connection. This secure authentication occurs when establishing the ACC integration within the CDE Sync platform. For users requiring 2-legged authentication, manual configuration of client credentials is available as a separate option (not through the marketplace app).

CDE Sync's Capabilities

CDE Sync is a no-code, cloud-based solution hosted on Microsoft Azure. The platform includes a wizard-based configuration tool, metadata mapping engine, and reporting dashboards that make it accessible for both technical and non-technical users. It does not store project files; instead, it streams data between platforms and retains only encrypted credentials and synchronisation logs for traceability and auditing.

CDE Sync supports the synchronisation of models, documents, and structured metadata between CDE platforms, with the following features:
