Description
The "Tab and Slot" add-in allows for easy tab and slot creation on plate and tube models. It supports the Assembly and Multi-Body part environments.
Any uniformly thick parts can be used to create tabs and slots. Further to that, "center drilled", "coincident", "Tangent" or "dog-bone" recess fillets can be added automatically to the Tabs or Slots or both.
The add-in supports Metric (mm) and Imperial (inch) units.
Note: This app uses a custom installer (and not the standard App Store installer).

Hi it is available for Inventor 2025. Please contact me using the email provided in the app, on the Help tab, and I will help you from there.
This tool is very handy when it comes to designing and fabricationg frames.
I will say that a good improvement would be the option to adjust the slot clearance independently as a Top & Bottom and Left & right sides rather than having the slot clearance remain the same all the way around the tab.
This added flexibility would be a great improvement.

It would be great to have app also for Inventor 2025 , when we should expect it ?
There is already a 2025 version.
I would not do with out it but ther are a 2 things that would be nice
1. it would be nice if the tabs would chaing whith the part wen you chaing the size and spacing of the part, or then if you cold some how update old tabes insted of deleting them and then making them agen .
2.would ther be a way if ther are mutipel instences of the same part in the assemble to make it put the slots in for all the parts at the same time

Thanks for the review and recommendations. We are looking at incorporating point 1 already. For point 2 there is a workflow to add slots only if you have a part that already has slots added. In the demo video we show that.
Any time estimate of when we can expect the functionality described at point 1?
Great Tool! coming from Solidworks that has a built in Tab & Slot, i was disappointed that inventor 2023 does not have it. But i am glad that there is a plug-in available.
However, I do want to point out that the Tab & Slots are not parametric. Meaning, if you adjust plate and it changes the location of the tab, the slot will not update. You have to go search for all of the feautres/sketches and delete them. Then re-do the slots and tabs. I beleieve this is because the tool uses "Project Cut Lines" which are not associative. Instead, "Project Geometry" should be used.
Lastly, when switching to Inches, the mm still shows up in the input fields. Its not a big deal because the input is considered as Inches. But it is annoying seeing the "mm" every time you open the tool.
Thanks for the feedback and great review! The inches/mm setting only comes into effect when no unit is specified. So if you specify 12 then the unit will be 12mm if it was set to Metric or 12in if it was set to Imperial. So it's a default unit when the user does not specify a unit. The app is designed to use mixed units and formulas to make it more robust.

This is a real time saver!! I just wished that the slots would move with the part, it you constrain a part and make your tabs and slot and the decide you want your part with the tabs over say a 1/2 inch the slots do not move with the part, that is the only down fall I see. Other then that it is great.

Nice tool works good in assemblies and saves a lot of time.
However I use multibodiparts and would also like to apply it in a part file if possible.
