Greenlee BendWorks®
Digitally signed app
Description
BendWorks® is a first-of-its-kind add-on software application for Autodesk® Revit® and Autodesk® Revit® MEP that helps Building Information Modeling (BIM) modelers more efficiently optimize electrical conduit runs. BendWorks® allows for a smooth information transfer between BIM modelers and the electrical prefabrication shop or jobsite. BendWorks® ensures that all conduit runs are error-free and export-ready for prefabrication or on-site bending with most Greenlee benders, saving time, and reducing cost for the electrical contractor.
Material Optimization
• Optimizes conduit runs for fewest cuts and segments
• Automatically or manually align couplings
Quality Control and Assurance
• Retains conduit parameters automatically during model modifications
• Automatically generates conduit identification for traceability on the jobsite
Error Checking
• Four types of error checking: setting, pre-process, process, and warning
• Adjust maximum bend angles and a total distance of conduit run
• Color-coded indicators on conduit for errors
• Checks for NEC violations and bender capacity
Model and Bend Accuracy
• Applies coupling gap information for more accurate installation
• Provides output files for BendWorks Go mobile app or to print for smooth information transfer
• Greenlee bender-specific output files provide step-by-step bend instructions to remove guesswork and reduce operator error
Sample Greenlee conduit RVT files are provided within the installer and can be found under the following path

Description de l'essai
30-Day Full Trial: Downloading this application will grant full access to all features and functionality for 30 days. Upon expiration of the trial, licenses may be purchased from the Greenlee storefront https://bendworks.greenlee.com/products/BendWorks.html. The subscription is available for monthly and annual auto-renewal as well as single and a five (5) licenses group pack for better pricing.
The software has great features to enable prefabrication for conduits. The main pain point is the lack of customer support and the clunky licensing.
Conduit and spooling features are awesome except for changing type. If conduit gets drawn as system conduit in larger diameters, the greenlee families may not be able to change type to the greenlee family. Had a number of issues with this. However if the model was started with greenlee families it seems to work very well. Would also be nice to have a coupling that can change conduit type like PVC to RMC or EMT.
I am just working with the trial version currently and am so far liking it, and so is our fab shop.
We would love to see a paramiter to call out the conduit run (ie: panel - panel, Ckt#) and have that show up on the conduit bend print out. I know there is a prefix for the numbering but if you have a conduit rack and select all conduit in the rack they will all be prefixed with the same prefix. You need to select all conduits in the rack if you want them to have the cuplings placed in-line or stagard. It would also be nice to be able to list other information like the project name and number. This would easily allow fabricators to know what project to put thier time towards.
I also dislike the fact that everytime I go into my settings to review something the settings get changed back to the original installation set up.
The features are good
Currently, the app is compatible with Autodesk Revit 2018, 2017, 2016 and 2015. At this time, Bendworks is not compatible with AutoCAD MEP.
The new version has so much to offer and with a much more affordable pricing structure. It really seems like the folks at Greenlee focused in on what the electrical contractors really needed to have successful workflows and productivity to support a Pre-fab environment. Using the 855GX in conjunction with the ability to optimize your conduit runs and align couplings allowed us to prefab over 900ft with less than 2 ft of scrap. Great job Greenlee!
Very pricey application, actual implementation for a high volume shop has a ways to go as of this date. Found a few bugs while using the optimization tool. In production environment we don't consider aesthetics, just accuracy. I have not had issues with lost data from custom parameters, but I will watch for that considering the comments from Shawn.
The idea here is great. Provide bend sheets to allow electrical to pre-fab with a spool drawing approach. Any manually-entered parameters are lost. Locations are Couplings are optimized for conduit lengths, but not aesthetics. I had a 6" Nipple on the run I sampled this with. Adjustments to make this more realistic are time consuming, and conduits aren't connected to each other, so the TAB-SELECT for a conduit run doesn't work.
